NI Traktor workshop

DJ freshfluke is a pioneer in digital DJing. As long time author of the TRAKTOR DJ-Software manuals she loves to share her knowledge as forums moderator for Native Instruments and American DJ. She started in 1999, organized a lot of parties, was spinning on countless open mic sessions and has rocked the best hiphop clubs not only in Germany.

Ableton Live 9 workshop

The hands-on workshop introduces certain aspects of the extensive possibilities of Ableton Live with a special focus on programming beats and loops, remixing and performing live.

Instructors:
Maya Consuelo Sternel (a.k.a. Donna Maya) is a Berlin based musician, studied audio engineer and the very first female Ableton Certified Trainer. Her music is characterized by dubstep flavored beats, deep rooted bass lines and unexpected sound fills. Her creative style led to invitations to perform at Sonar in Barcelona, Transmediale in Berlin and at “Pinakothek der Moderne” in Munich. She released her music on national and international labels, composed turntable concerts for philharmonic orchestra and DJ as well as contributions for soundtracks like the movie “kurz und schmerzlos” by Fatih Akim. She regularly writes for the “Beat” magazine and is author of the book “Beat Programmierung”. Maya teaches at the yoyosonic music institute as well as on her own online school UPSTART Online Music Education.

Madeleine Bloom is a musician, producer, multi-instrumentalist and singer from Berlin with her own label Quixotica Records. She studied Electroacoustic Music at the Franz Liszt Conservatory and employs the acquired methods to create her unique blend of electronica pop. Madeleine’s music has garnered praise from renowned producers like Guy Sigsworth and Rupert Hine as well as a personal invitation from Grammy winner Imogen Heap to support her live. In the last few years she’s worked as a technical support for Ableton. Now she runs Sonic Bloom, continuing to help other people to make music teaching Ableton Live and music production in online courses, workshops and one-to-one lessons.

An introduction of Modul8 software, a very flexible tool , used in domains as diverse as VJing, contemporary art, live performances, theater and video production.
You’ll learn how to produce your own video clips and mix them in real time.

Requirements: Mac computer and a video editor software. Video cameras, Midi controllers are welcome. We’ll supply a full Modul8 license, that will work for one month.

Isadora + Ableton Live workshop

Workshop description:
Introduction to video/audio interaction for performance and live visuals, using Ableton Live and Isadora. We’ll learn how these softwares work and how they can be linked together, as well as how to set up live video and sound production together with external MIDI devices, creating easy patches and use them in real time production.

Requirements: Mac or PC computer and a software. Video cameras, Midi controllers, synthesizers are welcome. Please install a version of Isadora and Live 9.

Instructors:
StratoFyzika is a collective creating movement-based interactive audiovisual performances. Three artists of various backgrounds; each representing one “stratum” audio, visual and movement layer. We continue in the tradition of Gesamtkunstwerk, researching sound waves, visual projection and dance movements connected through interactive technologies as an interdisciplinary way to achieve an aesthetic and sensorial experience, where numbers, frequencies and bodies merge into a final equation on stage.
This workshop will be held by two members Akkamiau / audio (CZ) and Aikia / video (IT)
